Synopsis
Satoru Mikami, a 37-year-old office worker, was the epitome of routine. Tokyo life suited him just fine, except for the glaring absence of a girlfriend throughout his life. One fateful day, an ordinary encounter with a coworker turned deadly when thugs attacked him on the street. Stabbed and near death, a strange voice echoed in his mind, spouting nonsensical commands on the brink of death.
Then, against all odds, Satoru woke up. Not as a human, but as a blob of slime in an entirely different world. Talk about a shocker! But hey, with this new job came some pretty cool perks - the ability to devour anything and take on its form and powers! Exploring his surroundings, Satoru stumbled upon an extraordinary situation: the legendary monster, "Storm Dragon" Veldora, who had been sealed for 300 years after reducing a city to ashes. Feeling sorry for the monster, Satoru (now calling himself Rimuru Tempest, thanks to Veldora's name-granting power) vowed to help break the seal. In return, Veldora bestowed upon him divine protection - a pretty sweet deal, considering. Free from the shackles of his ordinary past life, Rimuru embarked on a new adventure, with a clear purpose burning in his non-existent heart.
As he got used to his gooey form, his antics began to make waves in this strange new world, forever altering the course of his destiny.
